  • Full Moon Gong Bath w/ Ra Ma Kaur WARM

    Friday, March 22nd
    6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

    Come bathe in the sounds of the gong under the energy of the full moon and release what no longer serves your best and highest good. This special event invites a meditative space to reflect on what needs to be seen and what needs to be dissolved. The gong bath opens by tuning in to a higher consciousness and continues by breathing and stretching in yogic fashion.

    This process allows both the mind and body to deeply relax and soak in the sound therapy. Ra Ma incorporates astrological aspects that are occurring at this time in a way that benefits the participants in their cultivation practice. Loose, comfortable clothing and an open mind is suggested.

  • Kirtan: the Great Legends w/ Amah MILD

    There is a vast array of mythical deities in the Hindu tradition, and in the Bhakti Yoga practice of Kirtan, we celebrate by singing to them! In this engaging workshop, Amah Devi will share stories and songs of Shiva, Sita & Ram, Ganesh, Krishna & Radha, and more. Together we will build a greater context for understanding the colorful stories that are the underpinning of the Bhakti path through storytelling and song. Sharing the pastimes of the deities is a rich pathway into the Heart of Devotion!

    Come dive into the gifts of these legends in a warm blanket of joyful sound, storytelling with uplifting themes, and a beautiful community!

  • Intro to Yoga w/ Jennifer MILD

    Every Saturday from April 6th to May 11th
    2:30 PM - 3:45 PM

    New to yoga? Desiring a slower, more detailed and interactive class structure? Look no further, Intro to Yoga is for you!
    This series will help you to embody the physical practice of yoga through discussion and practice of:
    appropriate breathing
    alignment and energetics of basic standing balances, forward bends, backbends, hip mobilizers, twists etc.
    fundamentals of vinyasa (flow) or linking movement with breath
    Centering and restorative tools for rest, relaxation and self inquiry...and MORE
    Jennifer will provide appropriate modifications for you and YOUR practice, recognizing that every body is different (a beautiful thing!).
    Our intention is to build your confidence and awareness of the practice of yoga, so that by the time the series is over, you feel comfortable and empowered to attend classes and to roll out your mat at home, without feeling intimidated or lost.

    Questions and dialogue are encouraged as we hope to foster a safe and supportive environment where we can all grow and learn together as a community!

  • Ashtanga Yoga Weekend w/ Stacy MILD

    YAM is thrilled to announce the visit of guest teacher Stacy Ingham, Director of AYS Raleigh for a weekend immersion into the practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Ashtanga vinyasa is the foundation of many modern yoga styles now referred to as "flow." Get back to the roots of vinyasa with this skillful, experienced and gracious teacher.

    Session 1 - Start Here: Intro to Ashtanga.

    Join Stacy for a discussion on the origins and practice of Ashtanga vinyasa yoga followed by a short practice through the foundational standing postures. There will be detailed instruction on the role of breath and vinyasa in the (2 hours)

  • Ashtanga Yoga Weekend w/ Stacy MILD

    Session 2 - Yoga Chikitsa : The Primary series.

    In the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga tradition there are 6 series of postures. Each Ashtanga student begins by practicing the Primary Series (known as ‘yoga chikitsa’, which means yoga therapy). In the Ashtanga Vinyasa system, postures are sequenced in a specific order, which has the effect of ‘unlocking’ the body in an intelligent way that prepares the body for ones to come. Each pose has specific health benefits for the practitioner and when combined into a flowing sequence this has the effect of realigning and detoxifying the body and the nervous system as well as developing inner strength, flexibility and improving general health and wellbeing. Join Stacy for this Led Primary Series catered to the group, followed by an Intro to Pranayama - 2 hours

    Session 3 - Inquiry and Next Steps-

    1-3pm
    Join Stacy for the final portion of the series to refine your learnings from the weekend. This Asana Study will cover specific postures or sets of postures that students request or need based upon the unfolding of the immersion...what's on the ticket? You'll decide together! Backbends, jump throughs, inversions, forward folds, skies the limit...Learn from a seasoned teacher as she observes, assesses, and recommends next steps for you and your practice.

  • Beyond Asana w/ Jennifer MILD

    Every Friday from May 10th to May 24th

    Every Friday in January

    Join Jennifer for this 3 week series to to foster deeper states of concentration, contemplation and connection. Each session will incorporate beginner-intermediate asana, pranayama, bandha and meditation to build the resilience of your physical body, identify and clear mental “blockages” and cultivate a deeper curiosity and self inquiry.
    You do not have to have experience with advanced asana, breath work, meditative techniques etc. A relationship with Ujjayi pranayama (victorious breathing) and a regular asana practice of at least one year are advised
